Meet Jennifer Di Florio…

Interior &

Home Staging Designer in Toronto.

“I’m a space artist—not the galaxy kind. My passion is designing beautiful, functional and interesting spaces.”
Jennifer Di Florio

My Why

I believe my strength as an artist lies not in creating individual pieces of work; but in identifying the beauty in things that already exist in the world and curating them to evoke a harmonious sensory experience.

I am a detail-oriented individual who strives for perfection, with an artistic background that allows me to remain flexible and organic in problem solving.

My Journey

I’ve always considered myself a life enthusiast. I’m genuinely enthusiastic about so many things, it would be impossible to choose just one—life is too beautiful and complex for that.

I’ve been called a globetrotter by many. I love good food, I love meeting new people, and I believe in remaining open to change and new experiences. I love beautifully designed things, particularly witty greeting cards. I love curating spaces that allow creativity and human connections to flourish.

My journey into Interior Design began with a hands-on approach to home DIY projects. I often up-cycle leftover pieces of material from my projects into beautiful works of art.

My first large-scale project was an eccentric one—the conversion of a 40 foot school bus into an off-grid tiny home. The following year, I conceptualized and managed the renovation of a residential property into two thoughtfully furnished and well-designed flats.

In my Home Staging work, I assist homeowners to prepare their properties for today's real estate market. I develop a staging plan and provide a detailed assessment of suggested changes; this may include de-cluttering and re-arranging, minor renovations and remodelling and/or furniture rental. With the intention of appealing to the widest range of prospective buyers, I ensure each client's home creates an outstanding first impression and represents a lifestyle that buyers want. I’m an expert at curating spaces designed to sell!

In my Interior Design work, I collaborate with my clients to understand their design objectives, develop a design concept, and oversee the project from conception to completion. I believe well-designed interiors should satisfy the basic human need to create beauty and harmony, while also meeting the functional requirements in every day life. I handle all aspects of the project including concept development, finish and fixture selection, procurement, installation and subcontractor management.

My additional experience lies in Event Management, an industry that allowed me to refine my project management, organizational and communication skills in a unique way. Fun Fact: In 2017 & 2018, I worked with a small team to conceptualize, plan and execute a five day music festival on the Caribbean Island of Barbados.

My educational background includes a Diploma in Interior Design from the Interior Design Institute, a Postgraduate Degree in Event Management from Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and English, with a specialization in Photography, from the University of Guelph.
